After school snacks and a toddler lunch

I made 3 very similar mini bentos a few weeks ago. Two were for after school and before ballet snacks for Heidi and Rose and one was a little lunch for Emily.

grapes, blueberries, custard cream cookie, 2 mini bologna sandwiches

Heidi had the same - it's really easy to make multiples of things this way!

Emily's lunch was even almost the same - I just halved her grapes and added a few fishies.

Snack sized lunches

TGIF! I am so happy that it's Friday and the last day of school before mid-term break next week. We will all love a little change in routine. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get out and do something fun.   The girls have a hot dog lunch at school today so I packed them a little "sides" bento.  I made them both the same for ease and speed.

carrot sticks, goldfish, honeydew melon, strawberries

Light lunch - mini pita pockets

I found some more unposted lunches form the summertime! I believe these were from a swimming lesson day when they ate these early, right after swimming lessons.

 This was for Rose.
2 mini pita pocket sandwiches - one is tuna and one is chicken salad, watermelon, grapes, carrot sticks and cucumber stick. I can't remember what was in the little cup. Likely it was ranch dip or vitamins!

Heidi's Lunch
All of the same foods as for Rose -- she just had little bears instead of a mushrooms theme

And finally Amy's Lunch
2 ham and cheese roll ups, carrot sticks, naan bread, grapes and watermelon pieces
And if I remember correctly she didn't like the naan bread! I already knew she wouldn't eat the mini pita pockets or the tuna, or the chicken salad which is why hers is different in the first place. Oh she's very choosy my little Amy!

Easy Snacks for a busy morning!

These are from Friday - hot lunch day at school. Here are some snack/side bentos to go with the girls' hot lunch. I think it was pizza day :)

Rose's Snack
cheese circles, cantaloupe pieces, apple pieces, cucumber slices and grape tomatoes

Amy ended up coming home from school feeling sick that morning. Her eye was hurting her. She's actually at home today because she says her throat hurts. The little dance she did after her sisters left seem to indicate otherwise! Back to school tomorrow for sure!! This is her snack from Friday that she ended up eating at home.

It's the same as Rose's except Amy doesn't have tomatoes because she doesn't like them.

This is the third time that I used Fruit Fresh to keep the apple from turning brown. It works really well. I tested it at home previously, but I was able to give it another test on Friday since Amy brought hers home with her. At lunchtime the apples looked exactly the same.

I packed Heidi an EasyLunchbox and put it in the fridge.
She had Raspberry fromage frais, ham penguin sandwiches, grapes, clementine & carrots.

As usual I gave her some dip for her carrots at lunch time. She ate almost everything except not all of her sandwich and a few clementines.  She ate the fromage frais first - it's her favourite.

Simple Snack Bentos

Some very simple bento snacks for after swimming. Rose's is in the black bento and Heidi's is in the pink bento. They are virtually the same.

half a sandwich - ham & mustard or cheese
goldfish, blueberries and some honeydew melon

Swimming lessons are going great. Rose won't jump off the diving board by herself though! She's too funny. She stands there all ready to go and then shakes her head no and wants to hold someone's hand when she jumps. Hoping for a big jump tomorrow!!

After swimming bento

Rose & Heidi's late snack-early lunch for after swimming lessons. They are nearly identical.

Heidi's
3 cheese shaped heart sandwiches
 blueberries and heart shaped strawberries
honeydew melon

Rose's
the only difference is that she has ham inside her sandwiches

Rose has been really happy with a sandwich everyday all of a sudden. Maybe it's because she is so hungry after swimming and then she gets something different for lunch a bit later. I dunno but I'm not questioning it -- sandwiches are so much easier for me!

This is the cutter that I used to make the 3 little hearts. It's very easy. Since it's deep and metal you can easily make the whole sandwich and then cut it out, use a knife to make three cuts transforming it into three little hearts.

Elephant snacks & a local find!

Two snacks for my little swimmers! Heidi wasn't swimming today but she still had the same as Rose. She wants to have her turn everyday like her sister, but the little one's group lessons are only Monday and Wednesday so today we watched Rose's lesson.

Rose's after swim snack
strawberries, grapes,
half a ham sandwich with elephant cut out of mozzarella cheese

Heidi's snack.
the same except cheese sandwich.

You might not know this, but Heidi is a Dora fanatic. She loves anything with Dora on it. When we were out shopping a week or so ago she saw this little sandwich container and a pair of Dora socks that she just had to have. I am pleased to say that it's a perfect little snack container, or hot lunch day "sides" container. It fits 4 silicone cups perfectly and the lid snaps on with more conviction than our other ones. It is also easy enough for her to open. They were $4.55 at Pheonix Kids. There were a few other characters too.

Something was up with my camera. I couldn't take a decent photo. Hopefully I will have time to see if any of the settings are off before I use it next. I am not skilled in photography anyway so it's always on automatic. It was very weird today. These were the best ones and I took several!!!

Snacks or Mini Lunches?

These are for after swimming lessons. Heidi & Rose are famished after swimming lessons. Yesterday, I made them a little bit of a mini lunch style snack to be more filling. They ate everything after swimming lessons and then I gave them a regular lunch a bit later than usual. I think this will be a good plan for our swimming lesson days.

Rose's
2 ham sandwich rounds, cantaloupe, grapes

Heidi's
2 cheese sandwich rounds, cantaloupe, teddy grahams

Two sandwich rounds are made from one piece of bread so together it equals half a sandwich for each child.

Two Snack Bentos

Two little snack bentos to go with hot lunch day - last week Friday. I guess technically these are side dish bentos. Friday hot lunch is Cheese Pizza, these add a healthy part to their lunch.

Rosie's Puppy bento
cheerios, strawberries, pear slices,
blueberries, vitamin in the little puppy cup

Amy's Bento of sides/snacks
It's the same as Rosie's except since Amy will not eat blueberries, I left them out.
They each chose their little cups -- Amy picked Hello Kitty, how surprising :p

Fun snacks, new picks!

Two snacks for hot lunch day.  I made them both the same.

I LOVE these new picks. I just think they are darling. After the missing letter O pick I went online and ordered some new lunch accessories. It felt like Christmas morning when they arrived. Hopefully the new goodies will inspire a bunch of new ideas :) I finally picked up the newer lunchpunch set with the sweets - cake, cupcake, ice cream cones etc. Could have used them earlier in the month for the birthday lunches!! Now I am totally prepared for the next birthday.

Amy's snack
Cat in the hat's marshmallow hat, honeydew melon,
green egg, goldfish (from cat in the hat)

Rose's snack
The same as Amy's except she has the two children from cat in the hat for picks :)
I didn't have enough S picks to spell Seuss twice!

Amy
yogurt covered raisins, heart shaped strawberries
heart shaped watermelons, chocolate teddy grahams

exactly the same with a different container & presentation.

Friday = snacks. Hello Kitty & Pooh

Almost made it through the day without realising that it was Friday the 13th! The oldest girls only needed a snack to go with their hot lunch, Heidi only takes a drink. Friday mornings are the easiest <3

Amy - Hello Kitty
honeydew melon, grapes, teddy grahams and a HK boiled egg

Rose - Pooh Bear
grapes & honeydew melon with pooh bear picks
teddy grahams and a Pooh boiled egg

Only a few teddy grahams, a couple of grapes and the boiled egg yolk were left uneaten. (well plus the hot dog bun since Amy doesn't like the bun!?!)

Snack Day!

Everyone has pizza lunch at school today - so a little bit of fruit for Amy & Rose to go with it. Both girls have the same: honeydew melon, grapes and a mini PB heart sandwich. I used Pepperidge Farm very thin sliced bread so it's a true mini!

After School Snack

This is Amy's from last week, packed in her favourite Hello Kitty bento. I made it simple as she doesn't have much time to eat a snack before her after school club, and she's always starving.

Clementine, ritz crackers, ham flower

It was kind of a rush job on the ham flower and I didn't really have time to tidy it AND take a new picture. Also - she said the candy dot flower center kind of melted by the time she ate it. So no more candy flower centers. The baran worked and the ritz crackers weren't mushy from being next to the clementines.

Snacks!

Two snacks for the girls from last Friday. They had hot lunch at school again and only needed a snack. I was totally worn out from a long night the night before so very thankful that I didn't have to make lunches! Plus they told me what they wanted and that made is super easy.

Amy's
apple cinnamon rice cakes, pineapple, clementines

 Rose's
chocolate chip cookies, clementine, orange pepper strips,
sunflower seeds in the HK cup (it's hiding near the bottom)
